Greenbelt Crime: Vandalism, DUI and Drug Arrests

There were several DUI arrests and incidents of vandelism around Greenbelt, according to police.

Center City

Dec. 21, 10:15 p.m. - DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Greenbelt Road. A man was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Dec. 21, 10:16 p.m. - DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue near Pontiac Street. A woman was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Dec. 22, 7:19 a.m. - Vandalism. Gardenway at Ridge Road. Graffiti was found on a bench and some street signs.

Dec. 23, 2:41 a.m. - DUI/DWI Arrest. Lakecrest Drive at Greenbelt Road. A man was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Dec. 26, 9:14 a.m. - Vandalism. Crescent Road near Gardenway. Graffiti was found on some benches.

Dec. 26, 11:11 a.m. - Vandalism. Crescent Road. Graffiti was found on an electrical box.

Dec. 26, 11:55 a.m. - Vandalism. Ridge Road at Plateau Place. Graffiti was found on an electrical box.

Dec. 27, 9:55 a.m. - Vandalism. 30 court Ridge Road. Graffiti was found on a fence.

Dec. 27, 10:09 a.m. - Disorderly Conduct. 100 block Centerway. A woman was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

Franklin Park/Beltway Plaza/Greenbelt Metro/Capitol Office Park

Dec. 22, 1:50 a.m. - DUI/DWI Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Greenbelt Road. A man was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Dec. 22, 11:39 p.m. - DUI/DWI Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Breezewood Drive. A woman was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Dec. 23, 11:23 p.m. - Burglary. 6100 block Breezewood Drive. Electronics, jewelry and the keys to the victim’s vehicle were taken. The victim’s vehicle, a black 2003 Lincoln Navigator with MD tags, was also taken. The vehicle was recovered the next day in the 5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace. No arrests were made.

Dec. 24, 3:07 a.m. - Burglary. 5800 block Cherrywood Lane. Electronics were taken.

Dec. 24, 5:03 p.m. - Burglary. 6000 block Cherrywood Court. Electronics were taken.

Dec. 26, 1:55 p.m. - Burglary. 6200 block Breezewood Court. Food was taken.

Greenbelt East/Greenway Shopping Center

Dec. 23, 10 p.m. - Drug Arrest. 7500 block Greenbelt Road. Chigozirim Eze Aja Onu, 27, of Lanham, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Dec. 24, 8:13 p.m. - Armed Robbery. 7600 block Mandan Rd. The victim was approached by the suspect, who displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim was not injured during the incident. The suspect is described as a black male, 16-20 years old, 5-foot-6 to 6-foot, 130-160 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski pants, and a black stocking cap.

Dec. 24, 9:17 p.m. - Drug Arrest. 7800 block Mandan Road. Dorian Michael Wilson, 23, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Dec. 25, 7:55 p.m. - Concealed Deadly Weapon. 7800 block Mandan Road. Nicholas William Robinson, 20, of Greenbelt was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Dec. 25, 10:54 p.m. - DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Rt. 295. James Williams, 48, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Dec. 27, 12:30 a.m. - Reckless Endangerment. 7800 block Hanover Parkway. An unknown suspect fired a single shot from a handgun inside the hallway of an apartment building. No one was injured.
