Former Vanderbilt Football Player from Prince George's Charged in Rape

Police said four football players raped an unconscious woman in a dorm room.

A former Vanderbilt football player from Prince George’s county is scheduled to be arraigned for the rape of an unconscious student on the Vanderbilt campus.

Brandon Banks, 19, of Brandywine, was the last of four football players to be taken into police custody after surrendering to authorities on August 11, two days after the teenagers were charged rape, according to The Tennessean.

Banks, Brandon Vanderburg, 20, of California; Cory Batey, 19, of Nashville; and Jaborian “Tip” McKenzie, 19, of Miss. each face five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery, CNN reported.

Vanderburg also faces one count of tempering with evidence and one count of unlawful photography. 

The Chicago Tribune reports that police say on June 23, the four raped an unconscious student in a dorm on the Vanderbilt campus. University officials noticed suspicious behavior on a hallway security camera and notified police.

The four are scheduled to be arraigned on August 21.
