County Police Report: 23 Pounds of Marijuana Seized, Assault Charge on 400-Pound Bouncer, and GameStop Robbery

Highlights from police incidents in Prince George's County. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

PGPD jackpot sting: More than 23 pounds of marijuana, $4,000 in cash and ammunition seized

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s (PGPD) Special Enforcement  and Special Operations divisions made a substantial drug seizure on the morning of May 4 in Suitland, MD. Police conducted a search warrant at an apartment in the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive. Police report a recovery of more than 23 pounds of marijuana, more than $4,000 in cash and ammunition.

The arrest and seizure occurred during the county's Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative, in which Suitland is one of six targeted neighborhoods.

The lone suspect is identified as known gang member Leon Flythe, 28, of the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive, according to police. Flythe, was charged with felony possession with the intent to distribute large amounts of marijuana and other drug related charges, police say. He was remanded to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections where he is being held on a $60,000 bond.

Police charge 400-pound R.J. Bentley's bouncer with assault on patron

One College Park bouncer allegedly crossed the line of keeping the peace to disrupting it. The PGPD is currently investigating an assault on a R.J. Bentley's patron. A 6'2", 400-pound bouncer named Marcus Anthony Plummer, 28, of Berwyn Heights has been charged with the assault, according to police.

In the early morning hours of April 29, the victim, a 23-year-old member of the U.S. Air Force from Wyoming, threw a drink at a patron inside the bar and was consequently escorted out, according to police. When the patron attempted to get back inside, Plummer assaulted him, according to police.

The victim was not attending the University of Maryland and is currently assigned to Bolling Air Force Base. He was taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition, but that status was changed to stable on May 2, according to police.

Plummer was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Armed robbery at District Heights GameStop

The PGPD is investigating the armed robbery of the GameStop located in the 5700 block of Silver Hill Road in District Heights that occurred on Monday at around 10:46 a.m. They are asking for help in identifying the suspect who acted as the getaway driver. Their photo of the suspect is attached to this article.
