Tikia Anderson of Greenbelt, MD, pleaded guilty last year in the March 2010 acid attack that injured a woman and her three-year-old daughter. But the trial for Tamara Jackson, the alleged mastermind behind the attack who is charged with assault, began Tuesday in the Prince George's County Circuit Court.
Katrina Watts, the victim, broke down on the stand at Tuesday's trial while recounting the attack, as reported in ABC7's trial coverage report. She told the court Anderson accosted her and her daughter, throwing an acid-like chemical in their faces, according to the report.
Anderson pleaded guilty last year and also agreed to testify against Jackson. Prosecutors say the attack was Jackson's idea, not Anderson's. They also say Jackson devised the plan because of Watts' relationship with Jackson's ex-boyfriend, according to ABC7.
Pictures of the burns Watts and her child suffered were presented as evidence during the trial.
"I think they should be locked up. I think they should serve a life sentence to do it not only to me but to a child," Watts said, according to the report.
