All Greenbelt Call Boxes Are Up and Running

The last hurdle has been crossed, and all three new call boxes are good to go.

All three Greenbelt call boxes are up and running, David Moran, assistant city manager, reported Tuesday.

After a Verizon issue and then a wait on the strikers, the third and final call box, which is located at Springhill Lake Recreation Center, is now ready, according to Moran. It "got fixed as of today and, as of today, is working," he said.

It joins the roster with the new boxes on Metro Access Drive and near Springhill Lake Elementary as well as an older box in place on the Greenbriar side of the Spellman Overpass.

Residents and passersby can use the call boxes to report suspicious activity and to contact police immediately in the event of a crime.
