Mishkan Torah Purim Spiel

Well, the sun was in my eye when I took the photo.

Sorry for the delay in getting this post to you on Purim spiel. I spent some time trying to rescue my shots from my great photographic talent before I discovered that the people who say that you can fix everything in post — are malicious liars.

Take a look at Eric Zhang's blog where he posts much better photos of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Purim" or the Villain Punished. Zhang has been chronicling Greenbelt during its 75th Anniversary year.

In defense of Zhang, the photo you see here on Patch's site is mine. It's a shot of Esther (Rachel White) as she sings “On the Edge,” an adaption of Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory," in Mishkan Torah's production on March 3. The original musical was was written by Jeffrey Rosen (who also played Haman) and directed by David Herschler.

Now, don't be too hard on me. Although Zhang's shots are much better, he had an expensive camera, and, and... the sun was in my eye.

"How could that happen since the play was inside the temple?" the smart aleck among you asks. Well, you know the story, Esther marries King Ahasuerus, right?

Ahasuerus, a.k.a. sun god — look it up.

Okay, check out Eric, ignore this editor — that is my best legal advice.
