Obituary: Toni Raymond Durantine, 93

Toni Durantine was a father, grandfather and combat veteran of 56 missions.

 

A veteran, who flew 56 combat missions, Toni Raymond Durantine, 93, of Greenbelt, MD, passed away this month.

Born August 16, 1919, in Ossining, NY, Durantine served in the South Pacific in World War II as a bomber navigator. He also served as an Air Force Captain in the Korean War. Durantine was a graduate of Rutgers University and retired from NASA.

Surviving Durantine are his children— Anthony, Peter, Matthew and Nicolette Butler— nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He passed on June 4, 2012, and a service was held for him at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey, PA.
