Mishkan Torah Adult Education presents “Pain Relief without Drugs or Surgery”

On Sunday, September 15 at 10:30 am, the Mishkan Torah Adult Education Committee will be sponsoring a presentation on pain relief without drugs or surgery at Mishkan Torah Synagogue, 10 Ridge Road, Greenbelt, Maryland.  It is a topic that promises to be of interest and importance to the whole community. There will be no charge for the event, and it is open to everyone.

Dr. Daniel Kraus will be presenting the benefits of structural rehabilitation of the spine.  He will discuss the different types of pain, treatments for pain and how best to manage each type of condition.  He will also be talking about how non-drug therapies can benefit patients and allow them to avoid unnecessary surgeries.  Dr. Kraus will identify noninvasive and minimally invasive medical techniques, durable medical equipment and manual therapies utilized to reduce and eliminate pain. Following his presentation, Dr. Kraus will be available for questions from the audience. In addition, starting at 9:30, refreshments will be available at a nominal charge from the Synagogue’s Coffee Klatch.

Dr.  Kraus is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and went on to Life College in Marietta, Georgia, where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic.  Dr. Kraus received a Distinguished Fellow of Chiropractic Biophysics certification in 2008 and his Advanced Certification in Chiropractic Biophysics in 2011.  He is Board certified in the State of Maryland, and by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Dr. Kraus has had extensive experience in structural rehabilitation and he focuses on spinal correction. He believes that fixing posture helps improve overall health and helps patients achieve their long-term health goals.  His approach to treatment is to find the underlying cause of the problem; each treatment program is designed specifically for the individual.

Dr. Kraus founded the Terrapin Care Center in College Park, established in 2001, that has focused on the health needs of the entire family from infants to the elderly by utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to non-drug based methods of pain reduction.  Its practitioners are medical doctors, chiropractors and massage therapists with a principal goal of keeping
patients off of drugs and avoiding surgery.

Outside of the office Dr. Kraus enjoys triathlons, live music, skiing, the outdoors, and spending time with his family and two French Bulldogs.
