Greenbelt Joins Walk to School Day Wednesday
Community Leaders and children take part in International Walk to School Day.
On Wednesday, students from will join school children and community leaders around the world to celebrate International Walk to School Day. and Department of Recreation are partners in the event.
International Walk to School Day aims to bring community leaders and children together to promote awareness for walkable communities. Whether people are concerned over obesity, traffic congestion, cleaner air or safe walking routes, the day brings together children and adults, who share a common desire to promote environments conducive to walking and biking to school.
If you’re out on the road tomorrow, be extra cautious when driving near Greenbelt Elementary School and in other school zones. Be watchful and alert.
