Vegan Caterer Joins Greenbelt Farmers Market

The Greenbelt Farmers Market has added another vendor to its 2012 newbie list—Sunrise Catering of Hyattsville, MD, which offers vegan foods. See the full list of vendors below.

At the beginning of May, the market announced that Michele's Granola and Palmyra Farm Cheese would be joining the regulars.

Now just before the market opening on Mother's Day, May 13, Sunrise Catering joins the list.

Some Greenbelters' have experienced Sunrise Catering's food at the Greenbelt Labor Day Festival. But those who don't know about it may be in for a real treat, according to Farmers Market Treasurer Joe Gareri.

"The quality of their stuff is just phenomenal. For those who have limited exposure to vegan foods. They'll be dramatically surprised at what they find," he said.

Sunrise Catering essentially plans to bring everything on its menu to the market over the course of the season, according to Gareri.

Greenbelters are readying themselves for the market's 5th season, running Sundays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., May 13-Nov. 18 (except for Labor Day weekend)—located in the heart of historic Greenbelt, MD, on the west  parking lot.

On opening day, kids can get free balloons and the market will also be giving out raffle tickets, so patrons will get a chance to win some local goodies for mom or themselves.
