Friends of the Greenbelt Museum Wins $1,600 Grant

Anacostia Trails Heritage Area Inc. (ATHA) said it had to make some hard choices.

 

Friends of the won a $1,600 grant from Anacostia Trails Heritage Area Inc. for its exhibit: "Greenbelt: The First 75 Years."

"We had a great collection of mini-grant submissions this year and had to make some hard choices with our limited funds," said Executive Director Aaron Marcavitch. "We appreciate everyone who submitted a grant and we look forward to working with the organizations that were awarded funds."

The Anacastia Trails Heritage Area is a certified Maryland heritage area in northwest Prince George's County, and ATHA Inc. is its management entity. Its vision is for visitors to be able to easily find ways to enjoy the region through sites, parks, culture, restaurants and retail.

  • College Park Aviation Museum – “Aviation Meets Art” - $500
  • Hyattsville CDC – “ Route 1 Ride Transit Signs” - $1000
  • Joe’s Movement Emporium – “A Native American Cultural Celebration” – $2000
  • Riversdale Historical Society – “Dear Sir: The Personal Papers of C.B. Calvert” – $1900
  • Active Cultures – “Exploring the Anacostia Watershed Through Theater” – $1000
  • Washington Rochambeau Revolutionary Route – “W3R Research in Anacostia Trails Heritage Area” - $2000
