Greenbelt Celebrates Earth Day with City-Wide Activities

A variety of Earth Day-related events are happening across the city Saturday.

It's no surprise that a city named Greenbelt would be environmentally active.

So Earth Day—which is Saturday, April 20—will be a big day for the city, which is hosting a number of events.

PUBLIC WORKS OPEN HOUSE

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What: Enjoy Demonstrations, Tours, and Light Refreshments.

EARTH DAY AND ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

Where: Springhill Lake Recreation Center, 6101 Cherrywood Lane
When: 12 p.m.  to 3 p.m. 
What: Help install rain barrels and plant native plants.

CELEBRATION OF SPRING

Where: Springhill Lake Recreation Center

When: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

What: Family fun with food, arts and crafts, activities, moon bounces, music and more.

JUNIOR GIRL SCOUT TROOP 5859
