Franciscan Monastery Plant & Herb Sale

Get a start on spring planting! The annual Franciscan Monastery Herb and Plant Sale will be held on the beautiful grounds of the historic Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land

The popular sale features roses, organic herbs, annuals, perennials, trees and fruit vines, along with crafts and food. A limited supply of the Pope John Paul II rose (white, with a citrus scent and developed for the Vatican gardens) will be available to celebrate his canonization.

Free tours of the historic gardens will be held at 11 a.m. and noon.

Proceeds support preservation of the historic gardens of the Franciscan Monastery. Established more than a century ago, the gardens have grown to include over 1,000 rosebushes, other ornamental plants and native trees, vegetables and more.

The sale is sponsored by the volunteer Franciscan Monastery Garden Guild. Information: 202-526-6800 or www.fmgg.org or Facebook/gardenguild.
