Electric, Bumpin' Balkan party music comes to Greenbelt

Join Brooklyn-based Balkan party band Tipsy Oxcart for an evening of raucous party music from Bulgaria, Turkey, Macedonia, Romania and more! For one night only, Greenbelt's New Deal Cafe will transform into a bustling Mediterranean taverna fueled by delicious meze dishes, Turkish Coffee, and the infectious grooves of Tipsy Oxcart.

Tipsy Oxcart plays electric, sweaty, bumpin’ Balkan music, channeling the spirit of 36 hour weddings to keep the crowds dancing until the sun comes up. Serving up originals and fresh, upbeat arrangements of urban dance tunes, the band deviously infuses the sounds of South-Eastern Europe with elements of jazz, funk, and more. Dig naughty violin solos, atomic accordion grooves, freak-me-out clarinet, and the baddest rhythm section this side of the Mediterranean. NY Music Daily warns "If you’re not already among the converted, this music will leave you insatiable for more. What distinguishes Tipsy Oxcart from the many absolutely kick-ass American Balkan bands out there is that they have a rock rhythm section." A party with Tipsy Oxcart is guaranteed to shake the dance floor all night long! www.tipsyoxcart.com

The New Deal Cafe is a non-stock, cooperative cafe nestled in historic Roosevelt Center in the heart of Old Greenbelt with a gourmet  wine selection, Luscious Lebanese food and desserts, captivating live entertainment, and an intimate community atmosphere. www.newdealcafe.com
