What's Up With the Green Line: Weekend of April 29 through May 1

A look at what you need to know about Metro this weekend.

Once again, the Green Line is off the hook for scheduled weekend disruptions, but you may experience delays if you plan to transfer to the Red Line, which will have single-tracking trains this weekend, from 10 p.m. Friday, April 29, through closing Sunday, May 1. The Yellow Line will also have single-tracking trains, but on a much smaller scale than the Red Line.

Expect delays on and off throughout the weekend on the Red Line at its scheduled maintenance points. Trains will share one track between the Shady Grove and Twinbrook stations as personnel upgrade the surface underneath the tracks.

Red Line trains will also share one track between Takoma and Forest Glen stations as personnel make upgrades to the automatic train control system and the surface underneath the tracks as well as replace rail ties.

Yellow Line trains will be sharing one track between Huntington and Braddock Road stations as personnel replace rail fasteners.
