What's Up With the Green Line: Weekend of April 22 through 24

A look at what you need to know about Metro this weekend.

This looks like another weekend (April 22-24) with no Green Line disruptions scheduled by Metro. Like last weekend, however, if you plan to transfer to the Blue or Red lines, watch out for trouble spots where trains will run single-track.

On the Blue Line, Metro will continue its ongoing work to replace rail switches at the Van Dorn Street station. A special shuttle train will be running on one track approximately every 30 minutes between the Franconia-Springfield and King Street stations, which will mean significant delays. Metro encourages customers to commute to Huntington and use the Yellow Line as an alternate to these stations.

This week, Blue Line trains will also be sharing one track between the Stadium-Armory and Addison Road-Seat Pleasant stations to accommodate repairs to floating slabs underneath the rails.

On the Red Line, platform repairs continue at the White Flint Station. Expect delays, as trains will single-track in both directions on the Red Line between the Grosvenor-Strathmore and Twinbrook stations.

Red Line trains will once again share one track between the New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet U and Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood stations due to upgrades to the aerial structure.
