What's Up With the Green Line: July 8 through 10

The weather report for the Green Line is pretty sunny this weekend, unless you're transferring lines.

Metro has no work scheduled for the Green Line this weekend. But if you’re transferring to the Red, Blue or Yellow Lines, look out for scheduled work zones.

Red Line

Work on the Red Line will begin around 9:30 p.m. Friday, July 8 and continue until closing on Sunday, July 10.

Red Line trains will share one track between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Twinbrook stations due to platform work at White Flint and Twinbrook stations.

Red Line trains will share one track between Takoma and Forest Glen stations while Metro upgrades train control rooms and installs emergency phones.

Metro recommends Red Line customers allow 20 extra minutes of travel time.

Blue and Yellow Lines

Work on Blue and Yellow Lines will begin around 10 p.m. Friday, July 8, and continue until closing on Sunday, July 10.

Blue Line trains will share one track between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road-Seat Pleasant stations while crews repair the floating slabs underneath the rails.

Blue and Yellow Line trains will share one track between Braddock Road and Van Dorn Street/Huntington stations as crews install new rail and related infrastructure.

Yellow Line trains will not operate between Mt. Vernon Sq. and Fort Totten.

Metro recommends Blue and Yellow Line customers allow 20 extra minutes of travel time.
