Volcanic Eruption Could Disrupt Travel Plans

Though it may not live up to the Armageddon predictions for May 21, 2011 Iceland's volcanic eruption will be anything but heaven for Icelanders and travelers.

The Grimsvotn volcano erupted in Iceland Saturday, effecting a series of small earthquakes. With last year's eruption a little more than a year behind us, an eruption that shut down much of European air space, causing millions of passengers to be stranded -- travelers headed for Europe, or with connecting flights in the vicinity, may want to keep close watch on the progress.

As reported in The Huffington Post, in the midst of the volcanic activity, generating a white plume of up to 18,000 feet -- a no fly zone has already been designated for 120 miles (220 kilomenters) from the eruption, in all directions
