Saola appeared larger than Damrey in images released by NASA Goddard's MODIS Rapid Response Team. And Saola has an eye, according to NASA. At 11 a.m., Damrey had maximum sustained winds near 75 mph; Saola had maximum sustained winds near 103 mph, according to NASA.

Damrey is expected to become weaker by Thursday just before it makes landfall in China, but forecasters at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center expect Saola to strengthen before it hits land, according to NASA.
