Greenbelter Gets a Fashion Transformation on 'Maury'

Embarrassed by his mom's appearance, Anthony Carter asks Maury Povich for help.

If you tune in to the "Maury" show Thursday, you will see that two Greenbelters have made it to premier week on a makeover spectacular that promises to be sheer entertainment.

Anthony Carter, embarrassed by his mom’s revealing attire, reached out to the show for help after his mom was booted off Facebook for risky attire — five times, according to "Maury" show spokesperson Gary Rosen.

Rosen provided a preview of the show, which has already been taped and will be shown on Thursday, and how the makeover unfolded:

Anthony’s mom, Tracey Carter, described photos of herself — in the type of clothing she wore — as art.

Anthony had a different opinion and called it being naked on the Internet. He explained that she took pictures of herself in nothing but body paint. So he unfriended her on Facebook.

“She says every curve has a story,” Maury Povich said, explaining Tracey’s motto to the audience.

“OK, that’s true," Anthony replied. “But that don’t mean the whole world need to see all the stories at the same time.”

Tracey appeared on the show donning a red vinyl mini-dress with holes cut out, revealing her black bra, with her hair styled in black and red dreadlocks to match.

“I’m a sexy plus-sized model, and my son should be proud to have a mother that looks just like me,” Tracey said. “Every curve has a story, and I want the world to read my book.”

Tracey added, “[My son] just don’t understand. I’m 47 years old and I look good … All my plus-sized queens, this [is] for you.”

Maury explained to Tracey that Anthony’s dream was to take a photograph of his mom, after the makeover, that he would be proud to put on Facebook.

Thus the show unfolds. You can watch Thursday to see the results for yourself. Playing on WDCW at 4 p.m — Channel 3 for some Verizon Fios subscribers and Channel 10 for some Comcast subscribers. Check your guide for listings.
