Greenbelt Mom's 'Maury' Makeover: Not Too Shabby

Will Maury's mom makeover have a lasting effect on vinyl, thigh-high clad Greenbelter Tracey Carter? Depends on who you ask.

Plus size “queen” and Greenbelt resident, Tracey Carter had her grand debut on the “Maury” show Thursday at 4 p.m. EDT on WDCW. Appearing with her was her son Anthony Carter, who was eager to see the results of the promised makeover on his vinyl, thigh-high loving mom.

, he hoped Maury Povich might turn things around.

As the show began, Anthony talked to Maury about the shock of seeing pictures of his mom posing naked on his page and her anger over his de-friending her.

His dream — to leave with some new photos of mom, with clothes on.

Coming rapid fire behind Anthony's remarks, Tracey spoke off stage to the camera. She gave a shout out to women whom she called her plus size queens. "It's our time," she declared marching on stage, head high, in a scanty power red vinyl dress that revealed an enormous black bra and ample cleavage.

In front of the camera again, she demanded of Maury and his audience, "Why is it okay for small women to model with no clothes on — they call it art. But when plus size women model — they call it porn."

Drama complete, Tracey went to turn herself in to the makeover team led by Richard Calcasola from Maximus Salon.

An entourage of shock poster-children paraded through Maury's stage, while Anthony waited for the results.

The cast of makeover hopefuls ranged from Lucy with 71-inch monster Morticia hair to Matthew who said he wanted Maury to perform a drag queen exorcism on his best friend Tim — whose alter ego, Jade, sauntered onstage donning a shimmering cape along with some pink feathers that covered his/her much-less-than bikini line.

There was no lull in the startle-effects leading up to the moment for Tracey to appear. Shrouded in a cloudy mist, she suddenly metamorphosized draped in an empire-wasted classic purple dress that rippled with her steps. Silver sparkling heels had replaced the black lace-up attitude boots.

Anthony fell on the stage declaring her beautiful.

More drama ensued with Jade reappearing as Tim, an amazingly eye-catching man. And after losing nearly five-feet of hair, Lucy returned too — looking like a gal that could get a date on a Friday night.

Fade to black.

With the pre-taped episode in the can, just prior to the air date, Patch had caught up with Anthony and Tracey.

One of the first things Anthony recalled about the show was how much Tracey loved all the attention. She was in her element he said, and he could see her being on TV all the time.

Tracey agreed that she had loved it. “We had a ball. We had a blast,” she said, her voice bouncing. As for Maury — he’s just what you see on TV she said, “He’s as sweet as pie.”

Though her Facebook photos still reveal an ongoing love story with thigh high’s and vinyl, could she evolve post “Maury?” Depends on who you ask.

Tracey went back to the old way of dress after the show, according to Anthony. But he thought she got the point, “If we’re going out somewhere, dress like you’re my mom not my sister.”

When asked whether she would do just that, Tracey didn’t give a direct answer. She said the show was for Anthony to actually have pictures he could use on Facebook of mom in clothes. Check.

But as for changing, she answered, “Love Self is not going to change. You’re not going to see me on my site in clothes unless it’s vinyl, body paint or a piece of fur.”

Interestingly, Tracey beat Anthony in posting a "Maury" photo. And it wasn't a solo shot that she plastered in the profile of her Alvarez Love Self Facebook page. It was the "after" shot the show took of mom and son — leaning proud and together.
