From Greenbelt to DC Rolling Thunder Never Forgets

Bike after bike rolled into Greenbelt and into the nation's capitol, with drivers and passengers pledging never to forget POWs and soldiers who are MIA.

Rolling Thunder stopped off at the Greenbelt American Legion on Sunday for breakfast, then headed out on the annual motorcycle rally in Washington, for the 25th Anniversary of the event.

Their breakfast was captured in photography by Eric Zhang, who has been chronicling Greenbelt's 75th Anniversary year. Midway through Zhang's photographs, images of veterans with their bikes show riders coming into Greenbelt, MD, from as far off as Arizona and Canada.

Heading out from Greenbelt to our nation's capitol, the veterans ride by Staff Sergeant Tim Chambers, USMC, who holds vigil at full attention as they make their run, lasting around four hours. The timpelapse video attached to this article shows bike after bike riding past the lone Marine.

Rolling Thunder has ridden into Washington on Memorial Day weekend since 1988. The bikers participate in the rally to bring greater awareness to fellow veterans, whom they have pledged to never forget—prisoners of war (POW) and those missing in action (MIA)—and to show support for veterans of all wars.
