Thursday is National Dump the Pump Day. The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is encouraging people to put up their car keys and hop aboard public transportation for a day. 

APTA says it's the quickest way to beat high gas prices. The latest APTA transit savings report claims that a two-person household that downsizes to one family car can save a whopping $10,000 or more in one year.
