POLL: Bummed California Tortilla is Closed?

One Mexican restaurant in, another out.

The is gone, and the city has one more .

's doors have closed, because the restaurant's owners couldn't come to an agreement with landlords when renegotiating the lease, The Diamondback reported.

Distraught? Here are two things that might make the loss a little less painful. Those with a California Tortilla card have been credited with a free burrito to use at the Silver Spring, Bowie or Laurel locations by Dec. 8, 2011.

Second, will be opening soon, located at 10260 Baltimore Ave. in north College Park.

What's going on with the landlords in this town? Do they have an incentive to keep their buildings vacant, or is there some other factor forcing them to charge rents that are, apparently, too high?
