Panera Bread, Aldi and TD Bank Coming to Beltsville

Three new businesses are set to open along Route 1.

Greenbelt area residents will have one more place to buy their groceries and grab a meal with an Aldi and Panera Bread set to open along Route 1 in Beltsville.

According to the Carl M. Freeman Companies' website, they recently broke ground on St. Mary's Place—a shopping center just south of Costco at Baltimore Avenue and St. Mary's Street. The 28,186 square-feet shopping center will also have a TD Bank.

According to an application with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Olney-based Jara, LLC is the property owner.

The nearest Aldi—a grocery chain that sells non-brand name foods at lower prices—is in Chillum or Lanham, while the closest Panera is in Silver Spring, Bowie or Maryland City. TD Bank is currently located in downtown Silver Spring or in New Carrollton.

The developers have yet to announce when the shopping center will be open on their website.
