See local students as they share their talents in bands, choirs, orchestras, the visual and dramatic arts and more at the Greenbelt Community Arts Festival. It's a chance to support local elementary, middle and high school students during the week long festival at Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
Darelynn Fung, music teacher at Greenbelt and Berwyn Heights elementary schools, shares the following announcement:
The Greenbelt Community Arts Festival will take place at Eleanor Roosevelt High School from Oct. 22 through Oct. 29 and will feature performers and artists from:
- Greenbelt Elementary School
- Springhill Lake Elementary School
- Glenarden Woods Elementary School
- Magnolia Elementary School
- Greenbelt Middle SchoolRobert Goddard Middle School
- Eleanor Roosevelt High School (ERHS)
Each night a different performing art will be featured.
Monday the ERHS and Hyattsville Middle School Drama departments will present a showcase of their work. There will also be a sneak preview of ERHS' upcoming musical, "Grease."
Tuesday will feature band students with performances from the high school and middle school bands culminating in a mass band of students from elementary to high school.
Wednesday area choirs will be featured from the elementary, middle and high school level.
Thursday will showcase our area orchestra students with works being presented by the high school and middle schools and again ending with a mass orchestra, including our elementary students.
Friday ends the festival with performances by the ERHS guitar and piano students and also the ERHS Dance Team. There also will be a visual arts display by elementary, middle and high school students each night of the festival.
Admission is free and all performances start at 7 p.m. Please come and support our area students and arts in our schools.
