Green Man Festival Set for Takeoff

A weekend of fun, food, science and green awaits Greenbelt, MD.

The 8th Green Man Festival will fill Greenbelt, MD, with music, food, fun, and environmental awareness, starting Saturday morning at 10 a.m., rain or shine.

The festival entails the blessing and a cornocopia of events, including bands, face painting, , a fairy garden, a free movie screening, , a solar cooking display and more.

It's a celebration of Greenbelt's commitment to preserve its forests and to honor the Earth.

Organized by the Chesapeake Education, Arts and Research Society (CHEARS), the festival aims to reconnect festival-goers to the folklore of ancient civilizations through science, art, music and myth. There will also be crafts, vendors and booths on hand to browse through.
