Greenbelt Goes Gaga for the Blues
Head on out to Roosevelt Center and join in the festivities for the eighth annual Greenbelt Blues Festival.
It's time for the eighth annual Greenbelt Blues Festival. For the occasion, on Saturday, Sept. 17, bands will play blues of all styles—be it acoustic, electric, traditional, or modern—from 1-11 p.m., and it's free!
Roosevelt Center restaurants will be open throughout the day, serving food ranging from Mediterranean and Chinese to American. Chef Karim and Maria have a special menu on hand at the , which includes the Chef's own Blues Burger along with sweet potato fries and coleslaw.
"I just love sitting outside in that peaceful setting and hearing such amazing music," Café general manager Terri Rutledge said, "It's very relaxing."

Indeed, it all starts outside, where bands will play from 1-8 p.m., at which point the music moves inside to the New Deal Café's stage, with some since last year's festival.
Though it's looking overcast outside, the National Weather Service is forecasting scattered sprinkles with a high of 68 degrees.

- 1 p.m.: Built 4 Comfort
- 2 p.m.: The Paulverisers
- 3 p.m.: Capital Blues Ensemble
- 4 p.m.: KERQ
- 5 p.m.: Mike Westcott Band
- 6 p.m.: Jonny Grave & The Tombstones
- 7 p.m.: Jonny & the Stingrays
Indoor Stage (New Deal Café):
- 8 p.m.: Lady Rose Blues Band
- 9 p.m.: Fast Eddie & The Slowpokes
- 10 p.m.: Unruly Blues Band
