Pay homage to one of the pioneers of the Washington, D.C. blues-rock music scene by seeing Tom Principato perform this weekend.
Principato is a D.C.-based blues-rock guitarist and singer who was in the band Powerhouse, and during his solo career has performed with artists such as Big Mama Thornton, Danny Gatton and Billy Price. His live shows are exciting, with lots of guitar pyrotechnics and great performances from the other members of his ensemble.
He will be performing Friday night at the Birchmere Music Hall in Alexandria. He and his band will be performing with Bill Kirchen. The Birchmere has a restaurant inside, grab a bite to eat before the performance — I highly recommend their pizzas and pulled-pork barbecue.
