You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.
Greenbelt Pet Expo
Where/When: Greenbelt Community Center, Greenbelt, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go: Don't miss the clinics, demonstrations and animal beauty contest.
Price: Free
Green Man Festival
Where/When: Roosevelt Center, Greenbelt, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go: Come rain or shine to enjoy food, music, vendors and to become environmentally aware.
Price: Free admission
Greenbelt Farmers Market
Where/When: Roosevelt Center, Greenbelt, Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go: It's opening day of the farmer's market for the 2011 season. Pick up goods from your favorite vendors and try some new ones, too.

Make a Splash
Where/When: Ellen Linson Community Center, College Park, open daily.
Why Go: Obtain youth ID prior to registering for free swim lessons. Registration starts May 31.
Price: Free ID and swim lessons for ages 6-12
Harlem Renaissance Festival
Where/When: Kentland Community Center, Landover, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Why Go: Bring your lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy music, food, dancing, poetry readings and more.
