Non-profit organizations can get help producing a free 30-second TV spot.

Greenbelt non-profit organizations that want more people to know about their organization, work or events can get help at (GATE) studio on Jan. 21.

GATE Executive Director Malia Murray asks non-profits to be prepared with the following:

  • Information on the Five W’s — who, what, when, where and why.
  • Bring photos that support what they want to communicate, if they’re available. Bring them on a CD as JPEG files.
  • Be prepared to speak.
  • Don’t wear all black, pure white or small patterns. When dressing, keep in mind the video shots will probably be medium shots from the waist up.

GATE’s studio is located on the second floor of the Greenbelt Community Center — across from the Multi-Purpose Room. PSAs will be made on a first-come first-served basis and broadcast on FIOS Channel 19 and Comcast 77.

GATE plans to make this a monthly event.
