Amelia Earhart Puppet Show Flies Into Greenbelt Sunday

Enjoy a puppet show, decorate re-usable bags or step back in Greenbelt history with Hometown Heroes—all part of an Artful Afternoon.

Amelia Earhart flies into Greenbelt Sunday, puppet-style. It's time for another Artful Afternoon with activities planned for kids and adults at the Greenbelt Community Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Dinorock Productions is producing the free show, "Amelia and Her Big Red Plane" at 3 p.m. It is recommended for children pre-K through 2nd grade.

Artful Afternoon helpers will also walk participants through decorating their own reusable bags, with Artist in Residence Cestine-Howes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

For those who want to step back in time to Greenbelt's beginnings—"Hometown Heroes: A Celebration of Greenbelt Women" will be in the art gallery from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. It's alight dance theater’s interactive display and multi-dimensional project for Greenbelt’s 75th Anniversary.
