After Sold Out Peformance, 'Hometown Heroes' Returns

The Greenbelt Museum is partnering with to present the second round of "Hometown Heroes: 75 Years of Extraordinary Greenbelt Women."

The next performance tours begin Saturday afternoon, June 24, at 1, 1:30, 2, and 2:30. The production will take place in and around the at 10B Crescent Road.

Alight will explore the lives and experiences of Greenbelt women, from young mothers to "homemakers" in the late 1930s and early 1940s up to present day. Using oral histories, period props and costumes, alight dancers will guide the tours through the Museum House.

Hometown Heroes sold out its June 3 performances. Each performance can only accommodate six to eight people, according to the museum, because of the small size of the historic house, so it recommends reserving tickets ahead of time.

The last two scheduled performance dates are July 15 and 22. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go directly to the Greenbelt Museum, according to its website.

Tickets can also be purchased at the door, depending on availability. Tickets are $3 for general admission, $1 for Museum members and seniors.
