What Would You Improve in Greenbelt in 2013?

If you could make a New Year's resolution for Greenbelt, what would it be?

More than 45 percent of Americans make a resolution every year, according to statisticbrain.com. Some people vow to live a healthier lifestyle, others promise to spend more time with family, and many say they will try to save money.

As millions of Americans make resolutions to improve their lives, what could we do right here in Greenbelt to make it an even better place to live?

Would you like to see vacant storefronts in town center occupied with new businesses? Would you like to see the speed cameras disappear? Would you like to see roads improved and more bike lanes?

What is on your Greenbelt wish list? What is one thing you would improve in 2013?

Tell us in the comment section below or blog about why you love living here!

Greenbelt is just about perfect. But I would eliminate the popups from Patch.

Too heavy of a tree canopy - the siding on the townhouses is all green from too much dampness and not enough sunlight. Leaves everywhere not being cleaned up.

1. Direct popular election of the Mayor. 2. Direct popular election of the Mayor Pro Tempore. 3. Term limitation to three consecutive terms in any combination of positions on the City Council. 4. Wage and benefit freeze for all city employees except the police. 5. Make getting the FBI moved to Greenbelt as one of the top three city priorities. 6. Change election date for all City Council positions to same years as State Delegates and Senators.

Lower property taxes, and basically a better business environment on all fronts, especially taxes.
