Water Restored to Beltway Plaza Businesses

WSSC: Repairs to the broken main in College Park were completed around 11 a.m. Sunday.

The busted 24-inch water main in north College Park that caused many businesses in Greenbelt to shutter Saturday afternoon has been repaired, a WSSC spokesperson said.

Repairs were completed around 11 a.m. Sunday, and water service was fully restored to all impacted customers, included businesses in the Beltway Plaza Mall, the spokesperson said.

The main, located on Branchville Avenue near Greenbelt Road in College Park, broke between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday morning. Businesses along Greenbelt Road—from Wendy's to Siri's Chef Secret—were shuttered yesterday after they lost wateraround 4:30 p.m. so repairs could be completed. Most businesses in the Beltway Plaza Mall were also closed, except for Giant and Target, according to people who live near the mall.
