Bret Goldstein and Darelynn Fung will receive Mishkan Torah's first Young Leadership Award.

Mishkan Torah will present its first Young Leadership Award to Bret Goldstein and his wife Darelynn Fung at the conclusion of a special Shabbat service at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, in Greenbelt.

Goldstein and Fung have been married 18 years and have three children—Aaron, Sam and Elta. Both teach at Berwyn Heights Elementary School and have been involved in youth programs at Mishkan Torah, which they joined in 2007.

Goldstein is chair of the Children’s Education Committee at Mishkan Torah and has led the synagogue's monthly family services on first Fridays as well as its children’s High Holiday services. Fung was co-chair of the Youth Programs Committee, is co-administrator of Mishkan Torah's Facebook page and helped design its website.

The award ceremony will include skits, entertainment and a presentation of the award. A luncheon will follow at around noon, for which advance reservations were requested and tickets were pre-purchased.
