Seven Nights of Lights at the Franciscan Monastery

More than 800 luminaria will illuminate the outdoor porticos of the Franciscan Monastery from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Eve in this annual holiday tradition. The luminaria, or candles, will be lighted and blessed by the friars on Dec. 24 at 1 p.m. and will remain lit until New Year’s Eve. All are welcome to the blessing and to visit the monastery, which includes a replica of the Nativity Grotto from Bethlehem, throughout the holidays.

Free on-site parking; near Brookland-CUA Metro.
