Title: Invasive Plant Removal

Date/Time: August 22nd, 2012; 10-1pm.

Duration: 3 hours

Location: Fort Dupont Park is a 361-acre park located in Southeast DC run by the National Park Service. It is the second-largest natural woodland area in DC (the largest being Rock Creek Park, also run by the NPS). The small streams and tributaries located in Fort Dupont flow directly into the Anacostia River. We will be meeting at the park’s activity center, located on Fort Dupont Drive SE off of Randle Circle SE. The closest Metro stations are Anacostia and Navy Yard (both on the Green line), Minnesota Ave. (on the Orange line), or Benning Rd. (on the Blue line). There should be connections to the U2 and V7 buses towards the Archives on weekdays, and the V8 on weekends. Visit Metro’s website for more detailed information

Description: AWS will be working in partnership with the National Park Service to protect native flora and fauna at Fort Dupont by removing invasive plants with the help of folks like you! Come out to learn more about native and invasive species!
