Healthy Horizons: Fun with Fermented Foods

Join Co-op staff members, Ellen Siegel and Kim Rush Lynch for an evening of fun with fermented foods. Fermented food are packed with enzymes, nutrients and probiotics or healthy bacteria that protect your gut and nourish your immune system. Learn about the health benefits of fermentation, why it's better to ferment than can and try some samples, too!

This event will be held at the Greenbelt Youth Center. The program is FREE, however registration is required. Must have a minimum of 10 participants to hold the event.

Established in1984, the Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket and Pharmacy is a full variety supermarket located in the Historic Roosevelt Center in Greenbelt. Currently, more than 8,000 members own and control this non-profit organization.

The Co-op offers its customers a variety of traditional grocery items, natural and organic foods, beer and wine and a pharmacy. As a cooperative, the store is committed to educating its members and community through it's Shop Healthy programs, Seasonal and Savory food demos, Wine Tastings, New to Natural food samplings and the Consumer Corner, which provides informational handouts, publications and recipes. There is a one-time membership fee of $10, but you don't have to be a member to shop.
