 and is  administered regardless of race\, color\, creed\, religion\, sex
 ual  orientation\, gender\, disability\, or national origin.&nbsp\;\n&nb
 sp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp
 \;Eligibility:\n&nbsp\;\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Cur
 rent enrollment at a two or four-year college or university\, or vocatio
 nal school\;\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Entering fresh
 men must have taken the SAT 1 or the ACT unless having graduated from hi
 gh school for 5 or more years.\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbs
 p\; Current undergraduate and graduate students must have earned at leas
 t 24 college credit hours.\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; 
 Current resident of DC\, MD or VA\n&nbsp\;Essays should be a brief  summ
 ary of how your educational plans will advance your career and/or  inter
 ests. Describe how and when any unusual family or personal  circumstance
 s have affected your achievement in school\, work experience\,  or your 
 participation in school and community activities. List school  and commu
 nity service activities in which you have participated without  pay duri
 ng the past four years (e.g.\, hospital or hospice\, volunteer\,  etc) I
 nclude special awards\, honors\, or any other related information.\nTerm
  &amp\; Conditions&nbsp\;\nUp  to a five (5) scholarship awards of eithe
 r $500 or $1000 each will be  granted. Part-time students are eligible f
 or the $500 scholarship  awards.&nbsp\; Full-time students will receive 
 the $1000 scholarship awards.&nbsp\; The  $500 awards are for students a
 ttending an accredited two- or four-year  college\, university or vocati
 onal-technical school on a part-time (less  than 12 credits/term) basis.
  The $1000 awards are for students attending  an accredited two- or four
 -year college\, university or  vocational-technical school on a full-tim
 e (12 or more credits/term)  basis.&nbsp\; Students may reapply to the p
 rogram each year. A student may receive a maximum total of four (4) awar
 ds.\n&nbsp\;\nAwards are intended for use in the 2012-2013 academic scho
 ol year.\n&nbsp\;
