More than a hundred donors this week rallied around the family of 18-year-old Crystal Benton, the Laurel woman who was killed in a Nov. 18 car crash in Glen Burnie. Friends, family, and acquaintances raised over $5,000 to cover Benton's funeral expenses in less than a day. Contributions are still being accepted.
Authorities are investigating an apparent homicide that took place late Tuesday in an apartment in Laurel. Officers who responded to the residence in 11600 block of South Laurel Drive found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
