Pr. George's Cooling Centers Remain Open This Week

While area residents experience another dangerous heat wave, the county continues to operate cooling centers.

 • Camp Springs Senior Activity Center, 6420 Allentown Road, Camp Springs, MD

Cooling Centers open for the General Public at the following County locations and hours: from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

 • Rollingcrest-Chillum Community Center, 6120 Sargent Road, Chillum
 • Suitland Community Center, 5600 Regency Lane, Forestville, MD 20747

If you know of any local churches or other places in Bowie that are open as cooling centers this week, please post them here in the comments.

I had no idea that places could act as cooling centers. That is such a great idea, and really shows that necessity is the mother of invention. I imagine when a senior care camp springs md facility lost power or something, it was an emergency to make sure the seniors were cool enough and none of them got sick because of the heat.
