Police Blotter: Sept. 15-23

The Greenbelt Police released an activity report of crime in the last week.

 

Sept. 15: A car was damaged during a dispute at the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive.

Sept. 16:  Ayowole Gabriel Ijelu, 25, of Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with trespassing on posted property at the 8900 block of Edmonston Road at 12:27 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

Sept. 17: Alexander Herbert Fischer, 22, of Greenbelt was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other violations, after a traffic stop at the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Pontiac Street at 3:22 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

A rock was thrown through a window at the 9000 block of Breezewood Terrace at 8:09 a.m.

Jason Edward Mincey, 34, Forrestville, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on the 6400 block of Capitol Drive at 8:57 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

Robert Lewis Sheffield, 19, of Washington, D.C. was arrested and charged  with trespassing on private property at the 9200 block of Springhill Lane at 1:15 p.m. The suspect was released to the department of corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner

A gray 1993 Buick Regal with Maryland tags was stolen from the 6200 block of Springhill Drve.

A stereo system was taken from a vehicle at the 7800 block of Hanover Parkway.

Sept. 18: A victim was robbed at the 6000 block of Springhill Drive at 4:04 p.m. The suspects, who were apprehended later, displayed a handgun and demanded money. A non-resident juvenile was petitioned for armed robbery, robbery and first degree assault. The juvenile was released to the Department of Juvenile Services. The second suspect, Lamont Leaks, 20, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with armed robbery, robbery and first degree assault. The second suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

A Maryland temporary tag was taken from a car at the 6000 block of Springhill Drve.

A green 1996 Plymouth Voyager van with Maryland tags was reported stolen from the 7700 block of Ora Court. The vehicle was reported to the Prince George's County Police Department and was recovered, though no arrests have been made.

A green 2000 Ford Expedition with Maryland tags was reported stolen from the 6000 block of Springhill Drive The vehicle was reported to the Bladensburg Police Department and was recovered, though no arrests have been made.

Sept. 19: Nicholas Lee Ruffing, 28, of Hyattsville was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other violations, after a traffic stop at the 7200 block of Hanover Drive at 2:43 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

Jose Fajardo Osorio, 25, of Lanham was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other violations, after a traffic stop at the 6900 block of Hanover Drive at 2:45 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

A stereo system and car seat were taken from a ca at the 5800 block Cherrywood Lane.

A car window was broken at the 400 block of Ridge Road.

Sept. 20: Televisions, a camera, game consoles, computers and jewelry were taken from the 6200 block Springhill Court at 3:51 p.m.

Televisions, a camera, an iPod, a game console and jewelry were taken from the 5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace at 4:42p.m.

A gray 2002 Hyundai Sonata with Maryland tags was recovered in the 3600 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road. No arrests have been made.

A car mirror was taken from a vehicle at the 6000 block of Springhill Drive.

A laptop, cameras and textbooks were taken from a car on the 7900 block of Mandan Road.

A stereo was taken from a vehicle at the 6200 block of Springhill Court.

Sept. 21: An attempted burglary was reported at the 7800 block of Hanover Parkway at 7:56 p.m.

Edwin Ramon Escobar, 23, of Hyattsville was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other violations, after a traffic stop at the intersection of Mandan Road and Greenbelt at 11:00 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

 

Sept. 22: Brandon Christopher Fluellyn, 19, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with trespassing on private property at the 7800 block of Hanover Parkway at 6:05 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

Sept. 23: Tires and rims were taken from the 6400 block of Ivy Lane.

A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle on the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway.

Attempted theft from an auto was reported at the 7800 block of Mandan Road.

Attempted theft from an auto was reported at the 8000 block of Mandan Road.

A generator and drill were taken from a vehicle at the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway.

A CD player was taken from a vehicle at the 6500 block of Capitol Drive.

A stereo was taken from a vehicle at the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway.

A few vehicles were broke into and a satellite finder, stereo and CDs were taken from vehicles on the 8000 block of Mandan Road.

Attempted theft from an auto was reported at the 6500 block of Capitol Drive.
