It's second Thursday, and that means open mic night at the New Deal Café with James Riordan and Martha Heil—that's James and Martha to you. Locals and patrons can get in touch with their inner crooner and sing before a hometown crowd.
The mic opens up at 7 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. Bring your guitar, harmonica, or ukelele—or go for it acapello style.
Look for the signup sheet when you arrive, and get on the list to debut your inner star. If that inner star is a bit rusty, the New Deal regulars have been known to be forgiving.
Chef Karim and Maria will be on-hand serving up Lebanese favorites and other specialties. Take a look at the New Deal’s lunch and dinner menu if you want to grab a bite while listening.
The café is in the historic Roosevelt Center in the heart of Old Greenbelt, MD.
