Roosevelt Center Cleaners Sold
Greenbelt Cleaners & Tailors' owner Christine Chang says she is leaving the business after more than 20 years managing the store in Roosevelt Center.
Greenbelt Cleaners & Tailors' owner Christine Chang will be closing shop after managing the store for more than 20 years, she said. Saturday will be her final day running the business in Roosevelt Center.
Pointing to a bandage on her right wrist, Chang said her doctor told her not to use her right hand for three years because of carpal tunnel syndrome, and she decided it was time to retire.
The new owner, Mr. Kim, plans to shut the store down for several weeks, following her last day on Saturday, according to Chang.
Kimberly Lee, a friend of Chang's who is helping out at the store prior to its closing, said when Mr. Kim closes it down, he will perform renovations. The store will keep its name and remain a dry cleaning and tailoring business, according to Lee.
Although Lee did not know Mr. Kim's first name, she said he did run other dry cleaning businesses in Bethesda.
Even though she won't be running the store, Chang said she will still be in Greenbelt, where she resides.
