Djesben Plays in Its Favorite Spot — The New Deal Café

Djesben offers jazz, originals, bebop, bossa nova and more.

Djesben returns to the on Saturday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. bringing jazz and original tunes influenced by music from around the globe.

Greenbelt's own Diana McFadden will be joining them on the cello.

"The New Deal Cafe is our favorite venue to play music," percussionist Katy Gaughan said. "The community is so welcoming and enthusiastic!"

Djesben plays originals, jazz tunes, bebop, bossa nova, rock covers and improvisations. Its band features Topher Dunne on Chapman Stick & 12 string guitar, Christian Crowley on mountain dulcimer and Chapman Stick, and Gaughan on percussion.

The café invites patrons to enjoy wine and drinks from its bar or partake in its Lebanese Mediterranean-based selections.

The New Deal Café generally requires no cover charge for entertainment, but encourages patrons to make donations to the performing artists.
