City Council Meeting Preview: Oct. 25
City council will be discussing the transit restructuring plan, stormwater legislation and the fire department lease.
This is a look ahead of what to expect at tonight's city council meeting. The meeting begins at 8 p.m. at the Municipal Building Monday.
County Transit Restructuring Plan
Staff recommends that City Council send a letter to the Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation to outline the concerns of the city in accordance with the proposed Greenbelt transit restructuring plan. The letter is intended to highlight issues like extending evening and weekend hours, pedestrian and transit safety, increased frequency and improved connectivity, coordination and collaboration and adding stops to The Bus Route 15X.
County Stormwater Legislation
The council will revisit the County Stormwater Legislation, CB-80-2010, where they addressed issues with the floodplain ordinance, grading, drainage and pollution control. Staff recommends that the council continues to support CB-80-2010.
Other Items
The council will also be asked to renew the city's lease with the Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad for another two-year term. Brian Gibbons would like to continue to service on the Advisory Planning Board. Lastly, Trina Coore has submitted her request to resign from the 75th Anniversary Committee.
