Bites Nearby: Beltway Plaza's "Wings" is Nothing to Write Home About
After a visit to fast food restaurant, "Wings" in Beltway Plaza, the wings didn't quite make the cut.
Formerly Wings to Go, Wings is located at 6000 Greenbelt Road, within the Beltway Plaza Mall. Located near the Giant grocery store, Wings is easily accessible through the rear entrance, by the Laundromat and Gallon Clothing. Although Wings does not offer delivery services, phone orders are accepted.
Wings offers Buffalo or wings dipped in their "famous sauces," among the variety of menu options. It is definitely a one-stop shop with something for the whole family: boneless or original wing specials & combos chicken tenders, shrimp baskets, sandwiches and even gourmet salads.
Once I learned they offered lemon-pepper wings, I had to try them out. Unfortunately, my taste buds were not satisfied or my palette salivating. I chose a ten-wing combo, with fries and a drink; but as my father would put it, "It was nothing to write home about."
Maybe I should not have visited the fast-food giveaway being as hungry as I was; but I was convinced they would make my wings exactly like I like them, well-done and extra crispy!
The wings were perfect, just as I had asked; yet just lacked a little "umph" seasoning or zest. And the fries—they must have been oven-baked or day old.
The absolute best part of the experience is the service with a smile. However, for the near $10 priced combo, I expected a little bit more.
I'd you like little grease and not too much salt, "Wings" is the place to be!
