Annual Greenbelt Animal Care Expo on Saturday

Animal friends and people can enjoy the event together.

People and animal friends are invited to Greenbelt Animal Control's 8th Animal Care Expo on Saturday, May 12. It runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a cornucopia of offerings in the Greenbelt Community Center, from food and fun to a rabies clinic and animal beauty contest.

Animal Shelter Manager Kim DeAngelis explained the schedule of events, which kicks off at 10 a.m. with a rabies clinic that runs until 1 p.m. There will be a K-9 demo at noon and dancing dogs go on at 1 p.m.. As for the companion animal beauty contest, DeAngelis said it will likely follow the dancing dogs.

Chips, sodas and candy will be on hand, and there will be information tables and demonstrations.

So come on down and bring Lassie or Matilda along for the fun. All leashed social pets are welcome.

Points for anyone who gets Patch's Matilda the cat reference.
